Not everyone will experience all of them, and they often come and go. Symptoms include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-columns-3\"><li>Aggressive behavior<\/li><li>Cravings<\/li><li>Anxiety<\/li><li>Mood swings<\/li><li>Depression<\/li><li>Fatigue<\/li><li>Insomnia<\/li><li>Inability to focus<\/li><li>Low libido<\/li><li>Memory lapses<\/li><li>Suicidal thoughts<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2><a>How Long Does PAWS Last<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While acute withdrawal symptoms generally resolve in a few weeks, PAWS symptoms can last for a few months or up to a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s important to remember that the symptoms are not persistent. They will come and go. You\u2019ll find that certain situations, environments and other factors may play a role in when you experience PAWS symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As time goes on, they\u2019ll show up less frequently. Eventually, they\u2019ll disappear entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><a>Dealing With PAWS<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Know what you\u2019re dealing with.&nbsp;<\/strong>Knowledge is power. Learn to recognize the symptoms as part of the recovery process. Knowing what to expect will help you immensely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pay attention to the different situations that may bring about withdrawal symptoms. These are called triggers. Write them down, keep them with you, and always remind yourself that what you\u2019re feeling is nothing more than your brain rewiring itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Get physical.&nbsp;<\/strong>Physical activity is your best friend. Hit the gym or go for a run. You don\u2019t have to do anything too strenuous. A relaxed walk or easy hike will get your blood pumping and help you clear your head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember, exercising releases endorphins, which will help counteract the negative thoughts and emotional you\u2019ll encounter with PAWS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t go at this alone.&nbsp;<\/strong>Build a strong support system. Tell your friends and family what you are going through. Send them this article and ask them for support and understanding while you go through this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re experiencing intense withdrawal symptoms, individual or group therapy is a fantastic option that we strongly recommend.
